The history of Winchester mystery house:

We started in 1886, this house was a farm that only had 8 rooms, two floors, just a simple house. It was bought by a woman named Sarah Winchester, this woman was left alone, her husband died in 1880, and her only son died shortly after her husband. Sarah was depressed and left Connecticut for the city of San Jose to start a new life from scratch.

And it was not difficult for her since she had inherited a good fortune that came from the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, this was her husband’s company, which was dedicated to selling model 1873 rifles. This was the favorite weapon of the cowboys of the time because it fired a bullet every 3 seconds, with this speed the number of corpses caused by the confrontations of these people began to increase.

What began as a simple remodeling of the house became a great work that would last 36 years, after Sarah’s death in 1922. In the end, this small farm was completely transformed, reaching four floors, a total of 160 rooms, 466 doors, 46 fireplaces, two ballrooms, 10,000 panels made of glass, six kitchens, a total of 40 stairs, 51 skylights, two basements, and even this house had a shower with hot water, also heating for the house and three elevators.

The house is open to the public, and taking a visit inside will allow you to appreciate the creativity and richness in the materials that were used, which include wooden ceilings, parquet floors with hand-made moldings and inlays, gold chandeliers. and silver, in addition to the details of absolute beauty on the knobs, hinges, furniture, wallpaper, and above all, on the windows decorated with flower and animal motifs, many of these were designed by the Tiffany company.

Let yourself be surprised by the rarities of this house, believe me, that you will not be able to go through all the doors since many have a wall, others lead to the void and on the subject of the stairs that do not lead anywhere yet, they are claustrophobic and they are also like a kind of labyrinth that you will not be able to get out of.

Some rooms were built inside larger rooms, you will also find balconies and windows facing inwards, there are windows located on the floor, rooms that have no floor, small doors in which only small animals pass, you can see that the number 13 is repeated in places obsessively on the stairs, chandeliers, hangers, plus there are 13 bathrooms in the house, many of these are useless, it is said that their existence is to mislead the spirits.
